Safavids, a privately controlled investment platform and family office, has completed the acquisition of an initial stake in 100 MW Productions, a Bay Area data center business. The transaction is intended to support the development of Safavids' AI-native film production platform.

The facility has 100 MW of operational power capacity. Safavids has also entered into a signed agreement to acquire the remaining ownership. That further acquisition has not yet completed, and its completion remains a separate milestone. The initial ownership percentage and financial terms are not being disclosed in this announcement.

Connecting infrastructure and storytelling

Safavids AI is developing a human-led approach to filmmaking in which artificial intelligence supports creative development and production. The initial acquisition is intended to strengthen the infrastructure foundation behind that ambition and support the evaluation of future compute-intensive production workflows.

The distinction between power and compute is important. Operational power capacity does not by itself indicate installed GPUs, available AI computing performance or capacity dedicated to Safavids productions. The scope and timing of technical integration will depend on the relevant deployment and operating arrangements.

The next phase

Safavids' priorities are to advance the remaining acquisition under the signed agreement and assess how the facility can support its production plans. Further details on integration and creative projects will be shared as milestones are reached.
